Mark W. Thompson, Lead Equipment Engineer with Meta’s Reality Labs, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in virtual reality research and development.
With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Thompson has excelled as a lead equipment engineer with Meta’s Reality Labs since 2021. In this position, he works in a research and development laboratory on semiconductor industry equipment used for producing Oculus virtual reality devices. Mr. Thompson spends his days building and improving the products’ design and engineering. Prior to his current post, from 2018 to 2021, he was a member of the engineering staff for technical training with GlobalFoundries Inc.
As a committed and productive member of his community, Mr. Thompson has served as the president and vice president of the Crestview Homeowners Association since 2005. Eminently qualified, he holds numerous professional certifications, including certification in technical course development and instruction from Intel, numerous technical certifications, and coursework in business administration and management at Mission College.
Mr. Thompson is highly competitive and garnered experience in a traveling drum and bugle corps for six years during his upbringing. He is proud to have developed a successful business model alongside his colleague, Bobby. In the future, Mr. Thompson hopes to start a semiconductor engineering and maintenance training business, employing his passion for helping others advance in their careers.
