With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Hedlund has excelled as engineering consultant at Sensia and Schlumberger Limited since 2017, with expertise in controls and automation, robotics and software skills, and working as a machinist. He began his career as a senior systems engineer at Honeybee Robotics for 12 years. He immigrated to the United States in 2001.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hedlund pursued an education at the City University of New York where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He donated time and resources to feed homeless individuals through the church in his local community.
Mr. Hedlund became involved in his profession through the advice and inspiration of an employer he worked for when he was an electrician. His former boss convinced him that he was highly capable and that he should get an education to enhance his career options and overall knowledge base. His expertise and technical prowess led him to move to America and pursue an education. Mr. Hedlund attributes his success to his mother, who never gave up on him. He also credits his can-do attitude for the tenacity required to succeed.
Mr. Hedlund is most proud of developing the concept and building the initial prototype of a brush used on the Mars Rover to clear the dust off of Martian rocks so scientists could analyze the material. He is a father to three children and his hobbies including reading science fiction, biographies, and history, as well as traveling, cooking, and hiking. In the immediate future, he wants to develop his company and hire employees.
