With many years of experience to his credit, Mr. Blue has excelled as the founder and principal manager of Blue Spawn Consulting LLC since 2022. In this position, he is responsible for conducting assessments for improvements in companies, including start-ups, recruiting and delegating exceptional employees, helping companies reassess and realign their vision, and executing the best processes possible in order to obtain maximum results. He was previously active as the senior manager for the Facilities Management Center of Excellence with Amway in Ada, Michigan from 2008 to 2015, the director of engineering and maintenance with Meijer in Walker, Michigan from 2015 to 2019, the director of engineering and operational excellence with Santa Cruz Nutritionals from 2019 to 2020 and an operational excellence program manager with Genentech from 2021 to 2022. Mr. Blue began his career in administration as a manager and project manager in the department of project management and engineering for Pfizer in Kalamazoo, Michigan from 2000 to 2008.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Blue pursued an education at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University, from which he initially earned a Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering with a concentration in material science. He subsequently continued his formal studies with a Master of Engineering Management from the aforementioned university. At the age of 54, Mr. Blue returned to his academic efforts and eventually graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with a Master of Business Administration in 2016.
Beyond his primary endeavors within the field, Mr. Blue has found success in numerous roles outside of his immediate circles. For four years, he served as a member of the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Advisory Board at Michigan State University. He has likewise contributed to Plainwell Community Schools as a trustee, president and treasurer for ten years as well as a former head coach for track and football for four years. A renowned expert on bioengineering technology, he has further shared his wealth of knowledge as a keynote speaker at a local high school. Mr. Blue is also incredibly dedicated to those in need, supporting families and people within his community in need with food donations during the holidays.
Mr. Blue has attributed his success to his understanding of guidance and leadership as well as his humility and his refusal to forget his roots. He was initially drawn to his field in his formative years, as he would constantly disassemble and re-assemble items in his youth, even going as far as doing the same process to his first car at the age of 14. A strong proponent of his community, which he approaches with kindness and support, he is incredibly proud of his ability to connect with others because he firmly believes that great ideas cannot become reality without people and good leadership can create a ripple effect that elevates and inspires others. Looking toward the future, Mr. Blue hopes to share his story with others in a book while developing a STEM program to help minorities and those in underdeveloped areas.
