With over 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Azwell has excelled at Elessent Clean Technologies Inc. as technical manager of brink mist eliminators and senior chemical engineering consultant since 2022. He began his career at Elessent Clean Technologies Inc., formerly DuPont Clean Technologies and MECS, as coop engineer from 1991 to 1994, process engineer from 1995 to 2011, senior process engineer from 2011 to 2015, product technology manager from 2017 to 2018, and senior consultant from 2015 to 2021. He worked in a non-technical market support role from 1995 to 1996, and found success as an astronomy instructor from 2005 to 2014.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Azwell pursued an education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he completed pre-engineering coursework in 1991. He continued his studies at Mississippi State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1995. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Azwell has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. At the Overland Church of Christ, he held the role of elder since 2017 and deacon from 2006 to 2017. He also provided community outreach-related work for the church and donated to several local charities. He co-invented two different fiber collection media strips for a mist eliminator, a fiber bed assembly including a re-entrainment control device for a fiber bed mist eliminator, and holds five patents in his field. He was invited to speak at conferences in the People’s Republic of China, the Federal Republic of Germany, Canada, Great Britain, UK, Republic of Austria and several other countries.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Azwell has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He participated in co-inventing the five patents and one continuation within his field while working for 20 years in research and development on Brink Mist Eliminators at Elessent Clean Technologies. Furthermore, he helped create and launch AutoDrain, a device that automatically initiates draining of a style of mist eliminator without the need of attached piping. He was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America and presented with the Internal Awards for Outstanding Support of Projects.
