Attributing his success to endless curiosity and an innate desire to understand things at a fundamental level, Mr. Cutright has distinguished himself through his work at J. Cutright Engineering Services, an independent contractor that provides technical support, proactive process control and stabilization, and training in ceramic engineering. In this capacity, he leverages more than five decades of past experience with various companies, including as a product manager with AMI, a senior manager at American Standard Brands, a technical director with Patriot Porcelain and Spinks Clay Co., a senior staff engineer with Kohler Co., and an engineer at what is now the Fiesta Tableware Company, beginning in 1982. Mr. Cutright first studied ceramic science and engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1973.
For over 20 years, Mr. Cutright worked demanding hours at Kohler Co., where he contributed to the rapid expansion and growth of the company and encountered a constant barrage of global obligations. As a result of his commitments, he found himself constantly traveling, with very little time to spend at home. In light of this, he transitioned to a technical directorship at Spink Clay Co. Remaining there until 2015, he subsequently embarked upon a solo career path as a contract engineer – an endeavor he remains engaged in to this day. Throughout the course of his professional journey, Mr. Cutright is most proud to have built a sustainable vocation, one that has largely been fueled by practical knowledge and working information that simply cannot be found in books.
