Dr. Sotillo’s career is marked by contributions to professional literature, including “Improving the Economics and Market for Sechura Phosphate Rock: Characterization Studies,” published in April 2023 by Revista Minería of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers. Notably, he authored the chapter “Exploring the Use of Rheology in the Phosphate Industry” in the book “Beneficiation of Phosphates: New Thought, New Technology, New Development” by the Society for Mining and Exploration, Inc. in 2012. His expertise is further underscored by patents he holds, such as those for a “Pyrite Depressant Useful in Flotation Separation,” a “Method of Reducing Phosphate Ore Losses in a Desliming Process,” and a “Froth Flotation Process with pH Modification.” Additionally, he shared insights as a keynote speaker at the 8th Jordanian International Mining Conference in 2017.
