Subbiah Chockalingam, Principal Application Engineer at Discover Financial Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in software engineering.
Mr. Chockalingam began his career in the aviation sector before transferring his interest to the financial field. In 2004, he worked as a software engineer trainee for Lucid Software Limited in 2004. He contributed to Softura as a junior software engineer between 2004 and 2005, HCL Technologies as the lead engineer between 2005 and 2009, and Cognizant Technology Solutions as a senior associate between 2009 and 2012. He joined Capgemini in 2012 and acted as a senior consultant until 2017 and later as manager between 2018 and 2020. In 2020, he was recruited by Discover Financial Services as the lead software developer until 2021 and advanced to application engineer in 2022, a position in which he continues to thrive.
Attributing his success to perseverance, Mr. Chockalingam utilized this skill to earn a Bachelor of Engineering Technology specializing in information technology from Madras University in 2003. He garnered a master’s degree in internet architecture in 2003. Additionally, he completed a portfolio of projects in a postgraduate program in cloud computing from the Texas McCombs School of Business in 2021 and obtained a postgraduate degree in cloud computing from The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout his career, he has also become certified in numerous computer technology programs.
Mr. Chockalingam’s most notable achievement is accomplishing his postgraduate diploma in cloud computing with the University of Texas at Austin and Great Lakes Executive Learning. He enjoys giving back to the community by participating as a committee member for the Boy Scouts of America and donating to the American Red Cross. Professionally, he is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
In the coming years, Mr. Chockalingam intends to continue to grow within the technology field while also planning to shift his focus to the business domain in addition to technology to expand his expertise in both areas and focus on growing his knowledge of the business side. He emphasizes the importance of staying up-to-date with technology. When he is not working, he dedicates his time and attention to spending time with his family and watching movies.
