She worked as a mechanical designer at ATK from 2008 to 2009 and at Thern, Inc. from 2009 to 2013. She established herself as a manufacturing designer at Aerotek from 2013 to 2014.
Ms. Plaunt continued her career as a quality control inspector at NuCrane Manufacturing from 2014 to 2015. She contributed to the Curtiss-Wright Corporation as a maintenance outage NDE technician in 2015 and 2018. She garnered a stellar reputation as a quality control inspector at CB&I in 2016 and at the Fluor Corporation from 2016 to 2017. She continued her academic efforts at Western Technical College, obtaining an associate of applied science mechanical design technology in 2010. At Ridgewater College, she completed coursework in ultrasonic testing as a nuclear industry ultrasonic technician in 2013. She concluded her studies at Clemson University, graduating with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 2020. She holds technical certifications from the American Society of Quality, WECTEC, the American Welding Society, and Western Technical College.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Plaunt has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She was featured in Millennium Magazine. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the American Society of Quality, the American Welding Society, the American Nuclear Society, and Toastmasters International.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Plaunt has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America and was recognized as a certified welding inspector of the year in 2015. In the immediate future, she aims to further advance her skills and become a principal engineer at the company. Additionally, she plans to continue mentoring other supplier quality engineers while splitting her time between managing suppliers and implementing process improvements.
