He garnered a stellar reputation as a distinguished undergraduate research associate of the materials and manufacturing division at Pennsylvania State University from 2013 to 2015. At Honda of America Mfg., Inc., he established himself as a metallurgical process engineer from 2015 to 2018 and as a senior metallurgical process engineer from 2018 to 2022. He was active as an associate vehicle engineering consultant at Exponent from 2022 to 2024.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Fignar pursued an education at Lincoln Technical Institute, where he earned an associate of science in architectural engineering in 2004. He continued his academic efforts at Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering in 2015 and a Master of Engineering Management in 2020. He holds certifications and licenses from the Council for Six Sigma, the Federal Aviation Administration, Northwestern University, ASM International, and AutoDesk.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Fignar has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed as a COBRA Team Member on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” from 2009 to 2010 and as a construction crew leader and laborer with Habitat for Humanity International from 2004 to 2010. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the ASM International, ASTM International, SAE International, and the Penn State Alumni Association.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Fignar has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the 40 under 40 Industry Leader Award by Heat Treat Today in 2021. In the immediate future, he intends to enhance product quality, refine the construction process, and impart his knowledge and guidance to the next generation of engineers.
