With over 14 years of experience in engineering consulting, Mr. Dobias has excelled as the president, owner and chief executive officer of Dobias Professional Engineering PLLC, a start-up mechanical engineering firm, since 2023. Specializing in providing innovative mechanical and plumbing solutions for a wide range of industries, including health care, heavy industrial, commercial and remodeling projects, Dobias Professional Engineering PLLC remains committed to delivering high-quality services that meet and exceed industry standards. In his positions, Mr. Dobias focuses on innovation and sustainability, guiding the company to create forward-thinking designs that contribute to a greener future while providing tailored solutions to meet clients’ diverse needs.
Mr. Dobias began his professional journey at MPW Engineering LLC, where he served as a client manager, project manager and mechanical coordinator between 2010 and 2015. During this time, he played a key role in developing and designing a two-story LEED Silver big box store in Washington, D.C., as well as assisting in the design of a 150,000-square-foot elementary school and the renovations to the Fox Hotel and the Universal Ford buildings in downtown Tulsa. Soon thereafter, he joined Professional Engineering Consultants P.A. from 2015 to 2021, where he was active as a client manager, project manager, office manager and design engineer. With the aforementioned company, he managed, designed or assisted in the design of over $250 million in health care construction and led business development for a growing branch office.
From 2021 to 2023, Mr. Dobias contributed significantly to Frankfurt Short Bruza Associates P.C. as a client manager, project manager and senior mechanical engineer. His responsibilities included managing and designing over $100 million in industrial construction projects. Most recently, he was appointed as the senior mechanical engineer at Ghafari Associates LLC, where he focused on projects for the American Airlines Maintenance Base, engineering over 70 replacement steam and chilled water air handling units.
Laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors, Mr. Dobias earned a technical drafting and design certification from Tulsa Technology Center-Lemley Campus in 2006. He would subsequently obtain a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology from Oklahoma State University in 2010. Furthermore, he garnered his certification as a Healthcare Facility Design Professional from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and Professional Engineer accredited by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Mr. Dobias attributes his success to his unwavering determination and passion for making a positive impact. His journey in the engineering and architecture industry has been influenced by his family’s mechanical background as well as his early start in various roles, which instilled in him a strong work ethic and a drive toward excellence. Looking ahead, he plans to expand his company with the aim of creating a work environment that promotes employee happiness and satisfaction, believing it to be essential for success. To achieve this, he intends to broaden the company’s services by hiring highly qualified electrical engineers, complementing its existing mechanical services. Ultimately, his goal is to cement Dobias Professional Engineering PLLC as a leading engineering service provider, both in Oklahoma and beyond.
