With 31 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Kang has excelled as president of VANET since 2023. The company specializes in protocol development and telecommunication networking, utilizing an innovative alternative to fiber optic infrastructure developed over 20 years to resolve logistic and economic challenges for markets in Asia and North America. He began his career as a general manager at Samsung Electronics in Seoul, Korea from 1993 to 2000.
Dr. Kang continued his career as chief executive officer at MPEON, a Samsung affiliate company, from 2000 to 2004. He garnered a stellar reputation as vice president of Seoul Comm Tech, now Samsung SDS, from 2004 to 2009. At KTC of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, he served as the chief managing director from 2009 to 2010. He established himself as the chief executive officer of Camintel Co, Ltd from 2010 to 2023.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Kang pursued an education at Seoul National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1983 and a master’s degree in engineering in 1985. He concluded his studies at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating with a PhD in engineering in 1993.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Kang has accrued several accolades throughout his career, including being invited by the United Nations to a position as honorary ambassador. He considers his involvement in developing Samsung Electronics’ mobile portal concept among his most notable career accomplishments. Furthermore, he made significant contributions to a cutting-edge South Korean satellite system.
