In this capacity, he directs daily operations, oversees team and client management, and ensures the delivery of top-tier engineering design. Prior to this role, he held the position of associate partner at the Syska Hennessy Group from 1990 to 2000, making significant contributions to engineering design during his tenure. Mr. Carnavalla’s path began with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Boston University in 1990, shaping his professional trajectory. His educational background has been instrumental in his success, complemented by his dedication to ethical behavior, transparency, and dependability.
Notable highlights in his career encompass a diverse range of projects, with a significant milestone being his role as project manager for the construction of the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida, during the early 1990s. His innovative contributions to the project, particularly in designing plumbing life support systems for the aquarium tanks, played a pivotal part in its success. In light of his achievements, he received recognition for his contributions from the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1996. Other standout projects include his work with the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, the Taipei Zoological Park in Taiwan, the Central Park Zoo in New York City, and many large-scale residential and hotel projects in New York.
Mr. Carnavalla also actively engages with industry-related organizations, including the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, showcasing his commitment to professional development and industry progress. Outside his professional sphere, he supports charitable causes, such as the American Cancer Society’s walking and running events. Looking ahead, he remains committed to his firm’s growth by continuing his mentorship of young engineers. He intends to offer comprehensive training in trades to prepare graduates for success in the engineering industry.
