Additionally, his work in the United States focused on thermal heavy oil and water flooding projects across several states. A dedicated member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1978, he has been recognized as a distinguished lecturer multiple times and has delivered lectures worldwide. His extensive research and practical applications in the field have left a lasting legacy of expertise and excellence in the petroleum industry.
Mr. Buell’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where he also completed a second master’s degree in mineral economics. His theses, focused on oil and gas drilling activity indicators and the injectivity of non-Newtonian fluids, have underscored his scholarly contributions to the field. He is also a certified decision analysis expert, a registered professional engineer, and a certified API Q1/ISO 9001 auditor and inspector.
Throughout his career, Mr. Buell has achieved numerous milestones that underscore his dedication and innovative spirit. He has been at the forefront of technological advancements in the petroleum industry, notably as a pioneer in fiber optics.
