With over two decades of experience to his credit, Mr. O’Hearn has carved out a distinguished career in the field of engineering and demolition. He is currently the owner of Kinematic Consultants LLC since 2023, and the chief executive officer and owner of Kinetic Demolition & Engineering LLC since 2022. Kinematic Consultants focuses on consulting and engineering services, frequently assisting clients with construction engineering, demolition plans, and related projects. He is deeply involved in the cleanup efforts following the Francis Scott Keybridge collapse, showcasing his hands-on commitment to projects.

Mr. O’Hearn has held various roles with Atlantic Coasting Dismantling LLC, including his current position as a consultant since 2022, vice president from 2021 to 2022, chief estimator from 2018 to 2021, and project manager and estimator from 2016 to 2018. Prior to this, he was a project manager and estimator at NASDI LLC from 2014 to 2016 and at The Demolition Corporation LLC from 2012 to 2014. He began his career as an estimator at Testa Corp from 2008 to 2010, preceded by various field engineer and intern roles at Nicholson Construction, Testa Corp, Merrimack Engineering Services, Modern Continental, and CH Robinson.

Mr. O’Hearn has also contributed to the field through his co-authorship of “The Reliability of MN/DOT Pile Driving Formula – New Equation and Resistance Factors,” presented at the University of Minnesota’s 58th Annual Geotechnical Engineering Conference in 2010. He also co-authored “Developing a Resistance Factor for MN/DOT’s Pile Driving Formula,” in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minnesota State University-Mankato, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2009.

Laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors, Mr. O’Hearn pursued an education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, earning a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering in 2007 and a Master of Science in geotechnical engineering in 2008. In addition to these accomplishments, he completed several certifications, including Vermont Professional Civil Engineer, Connecticut Professional Engineer, NH Professional Civil Engineer, Massachusetts Professional Civil Engineer, Maine Professional Engineer, Pennsylvania Professional Engineer, Rhode Island Professional Civil Engineer, Unrestricted Construction Supervisor from the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, and 30-hour and 10-hour Occupational Safety & Health Training Courses from OSHA. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Temporary Works Committee under the demolition subcommittee.

Mr. O’Hearn’s most notable achievement was being included in the upcoming demolition project of the I-10 bridge in Mobile, Alabama, a 14-mile bridge that needs to be removed. Looking ahead, he aims to expand both of his businesses. He emphasizes a limitless outlook on growth and profitability, aspiring to cultivate an exceptional team and foster a positive work environment that attracts top talent. He aspires to establish his companies as industry leaders and desirable workplaces known for their excellence. 

Mr. O’Hearn also plans to take on larger projects and increase the company’s workload. He notes that starting a new company from scratch is challenging, but he successfully earned around $600,000 from June 2022 to the end of their first year. Last year, the company earned approximately two and a half million dollars; this year, the company is projected to earn about four and a half million dollars. He is committed to continuously striving for improvement and to perform all tasks to the best of his ability.
