Kevin Prchal, application engineer at Key Technology, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of technology.

With over two decades of experience, Mr. Prchal has established a successful career in applications engineering and the handling and conveying of food products. He currently excels as an application engineer of technical material handling at Key Technology, a leading global food processing machinery manufacturer, a role he has held since 2022. Prior to this, he worked as a design drafter from 2021 to 2022 and a welder from 2018 to 2021 at the same company.

Additionally, Mr. Prchal served as an operations manager at Backbone Industries Inc., a company that provides modular, customizable, and expandable rack and rail systems, and Accelerator Industries, which manufactures premium aluminum grass catchers, from 2001 to 2018. He also worked as a designer and operations manager at Accelerator Industries from 2001 to 2018, as a fabrication specialist at gym equipment manufacturer Vectra Fitness Parts LLC in 2001, and as a fabrication and shipping at Van Doren Sales Inc., North America’s premier manufacturer of custom, automated produce-handling equipment, from 1998 to 1999.

Laying a solid foundation for his future success, Mr. Prchal pursued an education at ITT Technical Institute, earning an Associate of Applied Science in computer-aided drafting and design in 1997. He continued his professional development with certifications as a certified welder from the Washington Association of Building Officials in 2018. He previously obtained his forklift certification from OVERTON Safety Training Inc. in 2003.

Mr. Prchal has been actively involved in his community, serving as president of Blue Mountain Archers, a locally run, non-profit organization located in Walla Walla, Washington, dedicated to promoting archery and ethical bow hunting. He was also appointed as the past president of the Walla Walla Valley Youth Football League from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, he was featured in Walla Walla Lifestyles Magazine in 2023.

One of Mr. Prchal’s most notable achievements is creating a product line for Backbone Industries in 2008. He and the sales manager designed a modular truck rack that was functional, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing, bringing a never-before-seen product to market successfully. He attributes his success to his upbringing in a small farming community, where he developed a strong work ethic. He became involved in his profession after working in various roles at Key Technology, including two years in the engineering department and several years in a welding shop. He has an extensive work history, having spent 17 years with his previous employer, where he served as operations manager for 15 years in a family-run business. In the coming years, he aims to advance his position within his company. He is passionate about mentoring and enjoys balancing hands-on work with utilizing new technologies. In his free time, he enjoys archery and hiking and is determined to maintain a work-life balance to be there for his children as they grow up.
