Theodore Roger Venske, volunteer at Sauk Rapids City Hall and home energy and resource advisor at Tri-Cap, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering technology.
With nearly four and a half decades of experience in engineering technology, Mr. Venske has established himself as a leader in his field. Since 2018, he has served as a Home energy advisor and resource manager at Tri-CAP Inc. In this role, he focuses on enhancing home energy efficiency by educating residents on simple habits such as turning off lights when not in use and budgeting effectively. He also conducts household visits to personally guide residents on energy-saving practices and connects low-income families with Tri-CAP’s specialized programs. He also volunteers as a cable caster at Sauk Rapids City Hall every second and fourth Monday evening, where he operates the cameras during city council meetings, records the sessions, and transmits them to closed-circuit television through the cable system.
From 2015 to 2018, Mr. Venske worked as a control panel builder at Electromatics Inc., and as an assembly and electronics repair technician at Nova-Tech Engineering in 2015. He was an electronic technician at Gorecki Manufacturing Inc. from 2005 to 2006, an electrical technician at New Flyer USA from 2002 to 2004, and electrical assembler technician at Komo Machine in 2021. Earlier in his career, from 1993 to 2001, he held the positions of panel build-up electrician and associate electrical designer at Douglas Machine Inc. and was an apprentice electrician at Kummet Electric from 1992 to 1993. Laying a solid foundation for his career, he earned a diploma in electrical construction from St. Cloud Technical and Community College in 1980, a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology from St. Cloud State University in 1986, and an Associate of Applied Science in supervisory management from Alexandria Technical and Community College in 1998.
Aside from his professional engagements, Mr. Venske has contributed to environmental and community organizations, including SR Green and the Seberger-Roosevelt Neighborhood Association, where he volunteered from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, he was actively involved with the St. Cloud Area Joint Planning District Board Sustainability Committee and the St. Cloud Urban Area Mississippi River Corridor Plan Task Force from 2010 to 2015. He has also worked as an electrician at Jet Edge in St. Michael from 2006 to 2009 and has supported the United Way. In the coming years, he is dedicated to continuing his impactful work at Tri-CAP or transitioning to a role in state government as an energy advisor specializing in renewable energy. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of continuous education, urging individuals to remain dedicated to learning and staying updated with industry advancements. He also advises maintaining a positive mindset to tackle challenges effectively and approach each opportunity with optimism.
