In this capacity, he is responsible for ensuring optimal performance for gaming devices. His experience includes being a senior graphics engineer at The Wombat Studio in 2019. The Wombat Studio is a creative technology company specializing in developing innovative software solutions and interactive experiences, with a focus on pushing the boundaries of digital design and entertainment. He was also a senior software engineer at Uber Advanced Technologies Group, now Aurora, in 2018. Aurora is a pioneering company in autonomous vehicle technology, focused on developing self-driving cars and advanced transportation solutions to create safer and more efficient mobility options. 

Additionally, Dr. Ballo served as a staff software engineer at Tesla, an American electric vehicle and clean energy company known for pioneering advancements in electric cars, battery energy storage, and sustainable energy solutions, from 2016 to 2017. From 2015 to 2016, he was a senior graphics programmer at Beachhead Studio, a division of Activision-Blizzard, that specializes in developing and supporting digital content and services for the Call of Duty franchise, enhancing the game’s online and multiplayer experiences, and a senior graphics programmer at Playdek Inc., a mobile and digital game developer, from 2014 to 2015, and a senior staff programmer at Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC from 2005 to 2014.

Dr. Ballo is also a former member of the Association for Computer Machinery Inc., the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, dedicated to advancing computing as a science and profession through its publications, conferences, and community initiatives, and actively dedicates his time to the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious food to individuals and families in need, working to combat hunger and food insecurity across the Silicon Valley region. He laid a solid educational foundation earning a master’s degree in electronics and computer science from Warsaw University of Technology in 1990, followed by a PhD in computer science from the same institution in 1994. Reflecting on his journey, he takes great pride in his contributions to society through his expertise in electronics engineering, particularly in his native country of Mali, West Africa. 

Dr. Ballo attributes his success to his strong skills, adaptability, and continuous learning, as well as his father fostering his ambition to succeed in America by introducing him to books about the country during his childhood. He also believes his late mother and children have played a major role in helping him achieve his goals. In addition, at Warsaw University of Technology, he received valuable guidance from his mentor and professor, Jan Zagrodzki, which influenced his academic and professional development. Also inspired by Elon Musk’s approach to innovation, he is focused on making significant contributions to electronics and computer development. He aspires to take on leadership or management roles in the hardware and software industry, with a focus on graphics.
