Title: Principal Radio Frequency Engineer
Company:
Lockheed Martin Corporation
Location:
Crowley, Texas, United States

Marcos Gomez, principal radio frequency engineer at Lockheed Martin Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in systems engineering.

With nearly a decade and a half of experience, Mr. Gomez has built a successful career in engineering, specializing in systems engineering. He currently excels as the principal radio frequency engineer at Lockheed Martin Corporation, a position he has held since 2023. In this role, he focuses on developing software tools for programming mission data files across various platforms, advancing radar sensor mechanisms for broader applications, and contributing to the advanced development program. His work involves taking in government technology requests to enhance war-fighter capabilities and collaborating closely with the Department of Defense on new technology discussions, designs, and presentations. He also mentors younger engineers, sharing concepts and emerging technologies beyond what is typically taught in academia. His previous roles at Lockheed Martin include radio frequency engineer senior staff from 2021 to 2023, electronic engineer senior staff from 2019 to 2023, and electronics engineer senior staff from 2009 to 2022. In light of his impressive undertakings with the company, he was honored with the Lockheed Martin Star Award.

Mr. Gomez has furthered his contributions to engineering and health science as a co-author of “The Inverse Problem of Electrocardiography,” published in Comprehensive Electrocardiography. Comprehensive Electrocardiography is a key medical reference covering advanced techniques, interpretations, and clinical applications of electrocardiography for diagnosing heart conditions. He also dedicates his time as a member of Tau Beta Pi, a national engineering honor society that recognizes academic excellence and distinguished character among engineering students and professionals. Additionally, he is a volunteer with Trinity Trash Bash, an initiative that organizes volunteers to remove litter throughout the community and local waterways, and a sponsor of Spina Bifida Awareness, which aims to increase knowledge about spina bifida and advocate for individuals affected by the condition. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2009, followed by a master’s in systems engineering from Southern Methodist University in 2014. Reflecting on his path, he takes pride in leading advanced design programs and developing software tools that integrate cutting-edge technologies, supporting national defense and war-fighter capabilities.

In the coming years, Mr. Gomez aims to attain the prestigious status of fellow at Lockheed Martin, a role achieved by less than 1% of professional engineers. Meeting this goal requires fulfilling 10 stringent requirements, of which he has already completed five. Currently, he is focused on meeting the sixth, which involves obtaining a professorship. He has applied for an associate professor position at Texas Christian University to teach an introductory electrical engineering course using Matlab. To complete his qualifications, he also seeks to secure a patent in his name. He believes that achieving this distinction would enable him to contribute his expertise across various Lockheed Martin programs, solving complex challenges with broader corporate impact.
