In 2005, he pursued a career at Microsoft as a software design engineer, spending two years in the position before going on to work for companies such as Symantec and Broadcom from 2007 to 2012. Seeking a change, he immigrated to the United States in 2012 to join Google at their offices in Mountain View, California.
In the U.S., Mr. Telang continued his work as a software engineer, spending three years with Google before joining Amazon in 2019, where he remains working alongside his position as senior principal software engineer at Palo Alto Networks, a leading cybersecurity company. He has excelled with Palo Alto Networks since 2021 and has bolstered the company’s software development progress, providing decades of expertise to the organization.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Telang acknowledges the role of hard work, coupled with his passion for coding and problem-solving, to be the source of his achievements. He takes great pride in his ability to work across various domains within his industry, and his expertise in coding has enabled him to resolve critical defects that others struggled to address. In addition, his innovative designs have garnered attention from the industry, resulting in him successfully obtaining numerous patents. These patents include a 2012 patent in search validity and data backup systems, a 2010 patent in systems and methods for indexing backup file metadata and a 2009 patent for a backup application analyzer. He confirmed his first patent, focused on rapid auto-scaling with pre-initialized instance quantity based on historical scale up rate, early on in his career, following this success with another patent in method and apparatus for optimizing computer network usage to prevent congestion. All these patents cumulatively serve as his greatest achievement, and he plans to continue innovating in the information technology space for many years to come.
