With nearly a decade and a half of experience to his credit, Mr. Singh has established a successful career in program management. He currently excels as vice president at J.S.K. Construction Corp., a position he has held since 2023. J.S.K. Construction provides comprehensive commercial and residential construction services, specializing in new builds, renovations, and project management throughout Northern California. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct lecturer at CUNY New York City College of Technology since 2019. His experience also includes roles as senior director at Tidal Basin Group from 2022 to 2023, senior principal project manager at Amtrak from 2019 to 2022, project manager at Dormitory Authority, State of New York from 2017 to 2019, and deputy resident engineer at Arcadis from 2014 to 2017. Mr. Singh is also involved with the Project Management Institute, which allows him to stay current with best practices in project management. He also volunteers at the Sikh Temple, dedicating time to community service and spiritual activities. In light of his impressive undertakings, he earned Quarterly Spot Bonus Awards from Arcadis in 2015 and 2016 and was the Harry H. Mellon Award of Merit Winner in Job Order Contracting at Arcadis in 2015. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Thepar Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in management and operations from Zicklin School of Business in 2019. He also holds the Green Professional designation from the Urban Green Council since 2024 and is a licensed professional engineer in Michigan.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Singh began his career as an engineer in India before moving to the U.S. in 2012, where he initially worked for electrical contracting firms. He takes immense pride in his career progression, especially after earning his MBA, which opened doors to larger roles, including managing multiple departments at Amtrak. He attributes his success to his honesty, commitment to his work, and a continuous drive to learn. He also credits his parents who instilled these values in him from a young age. In the coming years, he envisions starting his own consulting firm, aiming to grow professionally while making a positive impact on communities. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of focusing on one task at a time and practicing time blocking for undivided attention.
