Herman Felder Jr., PhD, chief data architect at KeyLogic, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in information technology and academia.
With over a decade and a half of experience in education and information technology, Dr. Felder has established a successful career that blends innovation, leadership, and technical expertise. Since 2019, he has served as chief data architect at KeyLogic, where he drives client-focused innovations and implements robust online security measures. Concurrently, he has been an adjunct professor at Capitol Technology University, where he initially developed and taught an undergraduate data science course over two semesters. He later transitioned to the master’s level, designing and teaching courses on big data warehousing, analytic systems, and an independent study on cybersecurity.
Dr. Felder’s experience includes senior systems engineer at Applied Technology Group from 2015 to 2019, systems engineer at Chiron Technology Services in 2014 and 2015, systems administrator at Six3 Systems from 2011 to 2014, and associate systems engineer at Novii Design from 2010 to 2011. He also completed an internship at Novii Design from 2009 to 2010. Earlier in his career, he worked as a test engineer and system administrator for the Space Operations Institute from 2007 to 2010. He also dedicates time as president of the Student Leadership Advisory Board at Capitol Technology University since 2008, is a trustee at Freedom Chapel International Christian Center in Washington D.C., and an active member of the Capitol Technology University Alumni Council.
Dr. Felder laid a solid educational foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in information assurance from Capitol Technology University in 2010, followed by a master’s degree in the same field in 2012. He completed his PhD in business analytics and decision sciences at Capitol Technology University in 2018. Additionally, he obtained numerous professional certifications, including an Amazon Web Servies (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and multiple specialized AWS certifications, such as Introduction to AWS for Non-Engineers and Exam Tips: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate on LinkedIn. He also holds a Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop, CompTIA Network+ certification earned in 2005, and CompTIA A+ certification obtained in 2004. Reflecting on his path, he has made a significant impact by enhancing the curriculum at Capitol Technology University to ensure students are thoroughly prepared for their careers upon graduation. Currently focusing on the master’s level program, he aims to support working adults in cybersecurity and computer science.
In the coming years, Dr. Felder is dedicated to significantly develop his presence and involvement in the community. He aims to actively participate in technology clubs and organizations, engage in networking activities, connect with fellow professionals and ultimately fulfill his dream of establishing his own company. Currently collaborating with a friend who shares his passion for launching a new company, with an aim to kickstart the venture in the coming year. He also plans to actively engage with technology organizations, particularly those catering to minority groups such as Blackstone Technologies and BIC, to contribute to these communities and attend the Acrotec conference. In addition, he aims to participate in well-known conferences focusing on AI, machine learning, and the AWS Summit.
