He’s honored to serve as the present chief technology officer at First Payment International, a credit card processing company, since 2021. Leveraging his many years of expertise, he was affiliated with Collibra as a lead solutions engineer from 2021 to 2022 and as a senior solutions engineer between 2010 and 2021. His telecom experience spans DataTrax, NEC eLuminant, Pannaway, and Ineoquest (converged voice, video and data networking). Mr. Morris’s earlier positions included field applications engineering and sales engineering roles. His initial foray into the industry was with Process Analysists Inc. as a systems engineer from 1994 to 1996 developing clean air applications.
Highly educated, Mr. Morris received a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in engineering and management from Vanderbilt University in 2023. He also received several professional credentials to heighten his expertise. Mr. Morris is a Talend data catalog implementer certified practitioner and data fabric explorer. Moreover, he completed additional courses through LinkedIn, including marketing communications, technical sales and data governance.
Besides his full-time career endeavors, Mr. Morris had the opportunity to serve with the NEC Corporation of America He has contributed to numerous projects throughout his career, including the LAfaultEARTHquakeApp and DonRobertoChileno. He has also become active with several industry-related organizations, such as the Order of the Engineer as a senior member and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in various capacities. Apart from his work-related involvement, Mr. Morris has been active civically as an inciter of young minds career coach and mentor for the Career Center Special Interest Group at the Colorado School of Mines since 2021. He has been lauded for his work and has received several accolades, which he attributes to his humble beginnings and determination to provide better opportunities for his family.
