Additionally, he was also the recipient of the Bright Future Full Scholarship. Reflecting on his path, Mr. Martin’s most recent achievement occurred in October 2024, when he worked closely with the City of Bartow in Florida, on a significant project at their wastewater treatment plant, which is undergoing expansion. The project involves adding new process trains to increase the plant’s capacity. Despite challenges posed by the area’s susceptibility to flooding and hurricanes, the project is progressing well. He credits his team’s coordinated effort and is proud of their dedication and teamwork. He views his work as a form of public service and takes great responsibility in ensuring people’s livelihood, health, and safety. He attributes his success to the tremendous support he has received from his family and friends, especially his wife for standing by him through challenging times. He also values the constant support of his parents, and deeply misses his late grandfather, who was a significant influence on him.
In the coming years, Mr. Martin’s goal is to pursue the fintech program at UCF. He has recently enrolled in a certificate program at the University of Florida, where he is currently taking classes. Additionally, he is enrolled in a certified wastewater operator program in Florida, with the intention of helping under-resourced communities. As a certified wastewater operator, he will be responsible for operating treatment facilities and aims to assist communities that lack the resources to properly manage their infrastructure. Looking to the future, he envisions advancing at ChastainSkillman. When he first joined the company, it was a third-generation, local boutique engineering firm based in Lakeland, Florida. Today, the company has grown into a national firm with a workforce of 1,200 employees across the country, following its acquisition four or five months ago.
