With nearly two decades of experience, Mr. Gochnour has established a successful career in oil and gas, specializing in subsea troubleshooting, field development, and integrating new wells into existing platforms. He laid a strong educational foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in 2019, and is a licensed professional engineer with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Reflecting on his path, one of his most significant achievements was his role in BP’s response to the Macondo oil spill. He organized the response team, established triage processes, conducted diagnostics on the blowout preventer, and managed the acquisition of the system that successfully closed the well. He has also earned patents for acoustic telemetry and transponders for monitoring subsea measurements from offshore wells. He also dedicates his time as a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Society for Underwater Technology. His accolades include achieving Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America in 2001 and receiving BP’s Accelerated Development Program Greatest Business Impact Award for the Macondo response. He attributes his success to teamwork and effective leadership. In the coming years, he plans to expand FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers by opening two additional clinics and transitioning into more project management-focused roles in the oil and gas industry.
