Michael Ostapenko, President at Satryx, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Software Engineering.

Mr. Ostapenko is a distinguished software engineer and computer scientist with a career marked by significant achievements and consistent contributions across multiple technological and research domains over more than two decades. In his recent role at Google, he exhibited exemplary leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and overseeing major business communication products, including Business Messages, RCS Business Messaging, Business Voice, and Verified SMS. His responsibilities included resolving complex technical problems, formulating strategies to enhance system security, reliability, and performance, and mentoring fellow engineers to foster their professional growth and skill development. Mr. Ostapenko emphasizes the importance of embracing risk and pushing boundaries to drive career advancement within an ever-evolving industry.

From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Ostapenko directed software engineering initiatives at NYULMC on behalf of Apex Systems. In this capacity, he led the development of innovative solutions for secure, automated processing of sensitive documents and efficient integration of diverse applications. Prior to this role, Mr. Ostapenko undertook numerous freelance software engineering projects, which included developing highly scalable distributed systems for processing large graphs, designing secure communication mechanisms, implementing low-level libraries, and employing artificial neural networks to guide automated trading decisions. As a seasoned software engineering expert, Mr. Ostapenko advises aspiring professionals to cultivate a broad perspective rather than focus narrowly on one specialization, thus opening access to greater and more diverse career opportunities.

From 2006 to 2015, Mr. Ostapenko conducted independent research in computer science, making substantial contributions to Boolean satisfiability and related NP-hard problems. His intensive exploration led to the development of sophisticated algorithms, innovative sparse data structures, and advanced heuristics, significantly enhancing the capabilities and performance of satisfiability solvers and symmetry-detection methods. His original research has consistently earned international recognition, affirming his standing as an authority on computational complexity and algorithmic efficiency.

Mr. Ostapenko’s academic foundation was established at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, where he earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, in computer systems and networks in 2005, a Master of Science in informatics in 2006, and ultimately completed a PhD program focused on the theoretical foundations of informatics in 2009. His educational credentials are further strengthened by internationally recognized certifications from Brainbench and Cambridge University. Mr. Ostapenko credits much of his success to the unwavering support of his mother during his formative years.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Ostapenko has distinguished himself in competitive programming by consistently ranking among the elite. Notably, he secured first place in the TopCoder NYC competition and reached the semifinals in the highly competitive OpenBracket Delaware contest. His active participation in algorithmic competitions has served to both validate and showcase his exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic insights into complex computational challenges.

Leveraging his extensive experience in industry and research, Mr. Ostapenko has recently founded Satryx, Inc. His entrepreneurial vision encompasses initiatives aimed at empowering the open-source community through the development of viable compensation frameworks for contributors, thereby addressing critical gaps in the current technological ecosystem. Additionally, he is leading groundbreaking research in automated reasoning, with the goal of creating artificial intelligence systems capable of human-level reasoning through the integration of formal logic techniques and advanced machine learning algorithms. With his ongoing commitment to innovation, Mr. Ostapenko is poised to drive substantial advancements in technology and artificial intelligence.
