Eric Steven Curtis, Founder and Chief Engineer at E. Curtis Consultants, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Engineering.
Mr. Curtis is recognized for his leadership as the founder and chief engineer at E. Curtis Consultants, a firm he established in 2022 that provides coaching services to clients throughout Southern California and other parts of the state, as well as Ohio. As such, he helps them solve complex manufacturing, technical and quality issues. He also works closely with them to obtain certifications and conducts various training sessions. Relying on more than 30 years of expertise, Mr. Curtis has become a respected figure in his field, with extensive expertise in aerospace and automotive, composite manufacturing, quality, project and engineering management, metal processing and metal machining.
Before pivoting into consulting, Mr. Curtis was the vice president of engineering and technology at TIGHITCO Inc. in Berlin, Connecticut, from 2021 to 2022, where he was instrumental in the company’s aerostructure division. He initially joined the company as a senior director of engineering and quality between 2018 and 2021, quickly advancing to senior director of engineering and product development in 2021.
Before his tenure at TIGHTCO Inc., Mr. Curtis succeeded at Molded Fiber Glass Companies in Aberdeen, South Dakota, as the manager of quality between 2016 and 2018, Ducommun Bonded Component Solutions in Monrovia, California, as the director of engineering, estimating and quality from 2014 to 2015, and Cobham Mission Equipment in Davenport, Iowa, as the program engineering manager between 2012 and 2014. Earlier in his career, Mr. Curtis served as the director of engineering and quality at Hartzell Aerospace in Perris, California, from 2005 to 2012 and as the director of engineering at Ducommun Aerostructures in Monrovia, California, between 1989 and 2005.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Curtis received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and aeronautical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1983. He is active in his professional community as a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering. These memberships have been instrumental in Mr. Curtis’s ability to remain at the forefront of his field.
Throughout his remarkable career, Mr. Curtis has been recognized for numerous accomplishments. He most notably designed and developed complex manufacturing processes for the 450/550 aircraft program. Mr. Curtis’s innovative approaches have successfully streamlined production, enhanced efficiency and ensured the highest quality standards for assembling these aircraft.
