Mr. Contreras Becerra previously worked for Cummings Inc. as the global director of plant product engineering from 2018 to 2024, where he was instrumental in ensuring that cross-functional teams in various regions, including the United States, Mexico, India, China and Europe, had the capacity and capability to execute projects, install processes and perform operations to produce finished goods for the aftermarket. His tenured career began with Empresas Cummings S.A. de C. in 1991 as a product validation engineer.
Complementing his professional success, Mr. Contreras Becerra became highly educated. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes since 1989, a Master of Science in manufacturing process from the Instituto Tecnológico de San Luis Potosi since 1991, and a Master of Business Administration in marketing and business from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey since 2000. Besides his formal education, Mr. Contreras Becerra received numerous professional credentials to advance his career, including becoming a quality management system auditor from Cummings Inc. and having designations in problem-solving and business strategy from McKinsey & Company.
Apart from his work-related ventures, Mr. Contreras Becerra has drawn accolades from various volunteer roles that support local initiatives, such as United Way of Bartholomew County, and by donating to animal care groups, children’s assistance groups and victims of domestic violence. He has also served on the board of directors for the Columbus Running Club since 2019. Grateful for his professional and personal accomplishments, Mr. Contreras Becerra has received numerous recognitions from Cummings Inc. He is most proud of his commitment to talent development and helping others succeed.
