His work focused on natural gas pipeline transmission and distribution reliability for California’s two major utility companies in the northern and southern regions.
Mr. Prigett was successful as a regulatory compliance engineer for stimulation at the California Department of Conservation from 2016 to 2018, where he was among a team of experts dedicated to conserving California’s energy, agricultural land and minerals. His career trajectory also included significant contributions as a senior completions engineer at Penn Virginia Corporation (now Baytex Energy Corporation) from 2014 to 2015. He was also a completions engineer with W&T Offshore Inc. between 2012 and 2014, where he played a crucial role in sealing leaky wells near sensitive areas in Los Angeles.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Prigett excelled as a regional and technical sales engineer for pressure pumping at BJ Services Company (now BJ Energy Solutions LLC) from 2008 to 2012. He began his professional journey as a field engineer specializing in fracturing, cementing and acidizing at BJ Services in 2005, following his initial year with Schlumberger Limited.
Mr. Prigett’s academic background laid a strong foundation for his career achievements. He has held a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma since 2004 and a Master of Public Administration in human resources management, organizational leadership and staff development from National University since 2022.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Prigett is actively involved in civic organizations. He has served as a team volunteer for the Plant-A-Tree Program with the United States Forest Service and as an event chair for SEARCH Homeless Services since 2013. He is also the founding vice president of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association under the University of Oklahoma Foundation.
Mr. Prigett’s most notable achievement was transitioning from working as a service company engineer to joining independent oil and gas companies. W&T Offshore was the first independent oil and gas company he worked for after spending his entire career in the service sector. Mr. Prigett’s contributions to W&T Offshore Inc. earned him and his team a Team Award for protecting less affluent communities.
Attributing much of his success to his small-town upbringing and his ambition to experience life beyond its confines, Mr. Prigett’s desire to be significant within social circles has driven him to network extensively, building valuable relationships throughout his career. Looking ahead, he aims to transition into a senior engineering management role within the public sector, continuing his work on mitigating environmental impacts through innovative solutions for leaking oil and gas wells.
