Before being named the vice president, Mr. Westhaus served as a director at Tetra Tech Inc., a position he acquired in 1997. His leadership and strategic vision have been pivotal in the company’s growth and success.

Headquartered in Pasadena, California, Tetra Tech is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on water, environment and sustainable infrastructure. Founded in 1966, the company has spent over five decades expanding its offerings. Mr. Westhaus’s career is also distinguished by his exemplary military service. He began his journey with a Navy ROTC scholarship during college, which led to over five years of active duty in submarines and over two decades in the Navy Reserves. Retiring as a captain after 30 years of service, Mr. Westhaus was decorated with multiple medals and ribbons for his dedication and leadership.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Westhaus’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame since 1979. Mr. Westhaus further enhanced his qualifications by completing the Navy’s nuclear program in 1980 and becoming a registered professional engineer in California. These credentials have been crucial in his ability to manage complex projects and lead teams effectively.

Mr. Westhaus’s commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by his active involvement with the Society of American Military Engineers, where he has served on the board of directors for many years. He has also contributed to the field through public speaking engagements, notably as a speaker at the Society of American Knowledge Engineers Annual Conference. Mr. Westhaus’s insights and experiences have provided valuable knowledge to peers and industry professionals.

In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Westhaus is deeply committed to civic engagement and community service. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, having served as past grand knight, and participates in church leagues where he will coach softball in 2025. Additionally, Mr. Westhaus volunteers with various organizations, including Unbound, where he sponsors a 14-year-old boy in Guatemala, the American Red Cross, the City of Hope Cancer Support Organization in Los Angeles, and local soup kitchens.

Mr. Westhaus plans to continue working at Tetra Tech until he reaches 30 years of service, aligning this milestone with his military tenure. Upon retirement, he aims to focus on more volunteer work and supporting charitable organizations, leaving a lasting positive impact on his community through meaningful contributions.
