Matthew Jesse Moore, PE, owner and president at Moore Engineering and Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements and leadership in structural engineering.
Mr. Moore has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of structural engineering over the course of nearly two decades. As the owner and president of Moore Engineering and Consulting, he has found much success serving smaller construction contractors, architects and owner-operators in Alaska. The aforementioned firm addresses the needs often overlooked by larger engineering companies, providing essential structural engineering and design services for projects ranging from residential homes to large man camps. Mr. Moore’s commitment to his clients is evident in his hands-on approach, which includes managing multiple projects, conducting site visits and collaborating closely with clients and contractors to ensure structural integrity.
Mr. Moore’s tenure at Mosaic Engineering and Consulting began as a staff engineer in 2016. Between 2016 and 2024, he quickly advanced to such roles as a project engineer and later a second-level project engineer. During his time at Mosaic Engineering, Mr. Moore honed his skills in project management and client relations, working primarily from the Denver office. His experience throughout these eight years laid the foundation for his eventual return to Alaska, where he identified a significant demand for structural engineering services.
Before joining Mosaic Engineering, Mr. Moore gained valuable experience as an engineer at Schneider & Associates Structural Engineers in 2015. This role further solidified his technical expertise and understanding of complex engineering challenges. Prior to entering the field of engineering, Mr. Moore worked as a logsmith and carpenter at Lee’s Custom Design from 2006 to 2013, where he developed a keen interest in structures and building operations.
Mr. Moore’s educational background includes a degree in architectural structural engineering from the University of Wyoming, completed in 2014. This academic achievement provided him with the technical knowledge necessary to excel in his field. Additionally, he holds a SPRAT certification, which underscores his commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and proficiency in engineering practices.
Throughout his career, Mr. Moore has been supported by a network of mentors and family members who have played a crucial role in his success. He attributes much of his professional growth to their guidance and encouragement. His decision to start his own business was driven by a desire to fill a gap in the Alaskan market for accessible and reliable structural engineering services.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Moore is an Eagle Scout, reflecting his long-standing commitment to community service and leadership. He enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, which allow him to connect with Alaska’s natural beauty. Mr. Moore is also devoted to his incredible family, which includes his loving wife, Lindsey, and their wonderful children, Booker and Dawson.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Moore is focused on expanding Moore Engineering and Consulting while strengthening client relationships within the community. He aims for his company to become the preferred choice for contractors, architects and building owners by emphasizing quick responses and helpful solutions. As experienced engineers retire, Mr. Moore is poised to fill those roles by reconnecting with his Alaskan roots and ensuring smooth operations for future projects.
