Before joining Oftedal Construction Inc., Mr. Boner held the position of project engineer at Knife River Corporation in Casper from 2020 to 2022. There, he contributed to the successful execution of civil construction projects by applying his engineering background to field operations and project management tasks. In 2020, Mr. Boner worked as a survey technician for Topographic Inc. in Casper. The company specializes in surveying, mapping, engineering and GIS.
From 2018 to 2019, Mr. Boner served as an engineering technician at Western Heritage Consulting & Engineering in Casper. Earlier, in 2017, he was a civil engineering intern at Phillips & Jordan Inc. in Douglas, Wyoming, where he initially acquired his technical skills and understanding of large-scale construction operations. Throughout his career, Mr. Boner’s expertise in engineering, surveying, heavy highway, heavy civil, and natural resource construction has been pivotal to his continued success.
Mr. Boner’s professional journey began much earlier as a ranch hand at Box Creek Ranch in Douglas from 2007 to 2017. As the fourth generation working on his family-owned ranch, he developed a strong work ethic and practical problem-solving abilities that have significantly contributed to his current status in the construction industry.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Boner earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, in 2017. His academic achievements have provided a solid foundation for his career in construction management and engineering. He also holds several certifications from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, including those as an asphalt cement technician, soils and aggregate technician, and portland cement concrete technician. Mr. Boner holds additional credentials in industrial leadership, lean concepts and management, management methods and construction technology. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Throughout his career, Mr. Boner has demonstrated a commitment to professional growth and industry engagement. He is a member of the construction leadership committee within the Associated General Contractors of Wyoming, where he has been participating for two years. Mr. Boner’s involvement extends beyond professional circles, as he participates in initiatives focused on giving back through the Associated General Contractors of Wyoming. He also actively supports local charities alongside his wife by selecting causes that align with their values and commitment to community support. Furthermore, he contributes to church activities and local programs that support children.
Mr. Boner’s commitment to excellence has been recognized through his receipt of the Project of the Year Award at Oftedal Construction Inc. for two consecutive years, an honor based on his outstanding work in production, quality, finance, accounting and administration. He was also named Young Contractor of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of Wyoming. Leadership development has been a central component of Mr. Boner’s success.
