Mr. Mendoza has established a distinguished career in the construction industry, marked by a steady progression through increasingly responsible roles and a commitment to professional excellence. Since 2024, he has served as a senior manager at Imperium Consulting Group, where he analyzes and quantifies data to produce deliverables that assist arbitrators in resolving complex construction disputes. Mr. Mendoza’s responsibilities include reviewing construction documents, objectively processing information, identifying the root causes of issues that arise during projects, and presenting findings to legal parties who may lack technical expertise. Notably, he oversees large-scale projects, including solar plants, liquefied natural gas facilities, transmission lines, universities, and public buildings, with a particular focus on litigation matters that involve significant time and financial considerations.

Headquartered in New York City, Imperium Consulting Group is recognized as a leading advisory firm that specializes in insurance claims, construction disputes, and complex risk management. The firm provides services to attorneys, C-suite executives, contractors, project owners, insurance brokers and other leaders in the field.

Before joining Imperium Consulting Group, Mr. Mendoza was a senior consultant at FTI Consulting Inc. from 2022 to 2024. In this capacity, he specialized in construction claims consulting for one of the world’s leading firms in the field. Between 2021 and 2022, Mr. Mendoza held the position of experienced associate at Driver Trett (now Diales), where he further developed his expertise in the field. He previously served as an experienced associate at BDO USA P.C. between 2019 and 2021, contributing to various assignments within the construction sector. In 2019, Mr. Mendoza briefly worked as an assistant project manager at Mega Contracting Group, after initially working in the U.S. for the department of design and construction for the City of New York in 2018.

Before relocating to the U.S., Mr. Mendoza built foundational experience in Peru’s construction industry. He was initially acquired by GAMAO in 2014 as an assistant engineer and subsequently promoted to project manager assistant. He was then recruited by GCAD Systems as a software instructor in 2015, where he imparted technical skills to others in the field. From there, Mr. Mendoza completed a traineeship at Stracon from 2015 to 2016 before serving as an assistant project manager at V&V Bravo until 2017. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional proficiency in delay analysis, a specialization that has earned him recognition among both peers and clients.

Mr. Mendoza’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Universidad Católica de Santa María in 2014, an international diploma in project management from Universidad ESAN in 2016, and a Master of Science in civil engineering with a major in construction management from New York University, conferred in 2018. He then received a diploma in teaching with cases from Harvard Business School at Harvard University and a second diploma in teaching science to scientists from the New York Academy of Sciences. Both diplomas notably focused on higher education administration. In 2021, Mr. Mendoza earned a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also completed additional coursework in construction law at Universidad del Pacífico in 2022.

Further bolstering his expertise, Mr. Mendoza received several industry credentials. Among them, he earned a designation as a construction site safety supervisor from Gallagher Bassett Technical Services, became recognized as a project management professional by the Project Management Institute, Inc., and completed a 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification, all in 2019. He also received certification as a planning and scheduling professional from AACE International and as an engineer-in-training through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in 2022.

Mr. Mendoza’s professional affiliations demonstrate his commitment to ongoing industry development. He is a member of the Project Management Institute Inc., ALPFA Foundation Inc. and AACE International.

Among Mr. Mendoza’s most notable achievements was his involvement in a high-profile construction project in Japan. Collaborating with a law firm based in Spain while stationed in the U.S., he was entrusted with significant client-facing responsibilities early in his career. Despite initial challenges and the demanding expectations of his supervisor, he excelled under pressure and delivered results that were well received by clients.

A career that reflects not only technical expertise but also resilience, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to excellence within the global construction industry, Mr. Mendoza aspires to become an expert witness within his field and participate directly in trial proceedings related to construction disputes. He also plans to obtain licensure as a professional engineer from the State of New York and is considering a part-time return to academia for doctoral studies in business administration.
