In preparation for his future, Mr. La Rosa received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in Ames in 2021. He also obtained a certificate in leadership studies on campus that same year. These academic achievements have played a significant role in equipping Mr. La Rosa with both the technical knowledge and leadership skills necessary for success in engineering and land surveying.
Mr. La Rosa’s commitment to the field is further evidenced by his membership in the Society of Land Surveyors of Iowa, reflecting his dedication to professional development and industry standards. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved with civic organizations, such as his local Rotary Club, demonstrating a commitment to service and community engagement.
Mr. La Rosa’s interest in civil engineering was sparked at a young age during family travels when he became fascinated by road construction equipment. This curiosity deepened during middle school through participation in the ‘I Have a Plan Iowa’ program, a comprehensive online platform where students can learn about various career and academic options and make well-informed decisions about their futures. Through the program, Mr. La Rosa gained insight into the profession of civil engineering, ultimately solidifying his career aspirations after high school.
Throughout his career, Mr. La Rosa has been recognized for his achievements and contributions to the field. Among his most notable accomplishments was designing and helping to construct the turf football field for his former high school. This project was a testament to Mr. La Rosa’s technical abilities and commitment to making a positive impact.
