Steven E. Kreeley, structural engineer at Atlas, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering and precast concrete.
Mr. Kreeley has immersed himself in the field of engineering for over 10 years. His professional journey started in 2013 as a sample research analyst with the Philadelphia Water Department. Following that, Mr. Kreeley gained further experience as a designer and draftsman with the Philadelphia Streets Department’s Bridge Division. In this position, he took part in multiple major projects, including designing preliminary configurations for the city’s Falls Bridge, creating a traffic plan for a bridge removal and editing plans for the Ellsworth Retaining Wall.
Continuing to establish his expertise in the field, Mr. Kreeley became a design engineer with Universal Concrete Products in 2016. Among other accomplishments, his several years with Universal Concrete Products included contributions to the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg campus, Lafayette College, Public Service Enterprise Group facilities and Shell Chemicals facilities. From there, Mr. Kreeley accepted the role of engineer with Network Building + Consulting. This firm offers support to clients engaging in complex projects, providing project planning, construction guidance and more.
The trajectory of Mr. Kreeley’s career has culminated in his current position as a structural engineer at Atlas since 2023. Atlas is a renowned infrastructure and environmental solutions company with more than 100 locations around the United States. Mr. Kreeley’s daily responsibilities are focused on designing and analyzing components for water and wastewater treatment facilities. To accomplish this, he visits sites to inspect them in person and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, combining civil engineering and structural solutions.
An unshakable foundation for Mr. Kreeley’s vocational path was set through his education. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Drexel University in 2016. Subsequently, Mr. Kreeley earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from the same institution in 2019. Committed to continued improvement, he has gained a number of professional credentials. Mr. Kreeley was certified as an engineer in training by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in 2016, as a professional engineer by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2022, as a professional civil engineer by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in 2022, and as a professional engineer by the state of Maryland. He considers both of his professional engineer licenses to be his most noteworthy achievements and aims to become licensed in New Jersey in the future as well.
As a commitment to his field, Mr. Kreeley has been active with several industry-related organizations. He maintains membership with the Order of the Engineer, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Drexel Concrete Canoe Team and Drexel DEI: Dragons for Excellence and Inspiration.
When he’s not working, Mr. Kreeley enjoys hiking, reading, going to the gym, watching movies and television, kayaking and spending time with friends and family. As he moves forward, he intends to continue learning and improving at all times. Mr. Kreeley hopes to take on a managerial role soon and also intends to devote more time and resources to mentoring younger engineers. He is eager to earn more accolades and is excited about his future with Atlas.
