Jeffrey R. Lindstrom, Advisor of Operations Engineering at Fannie Mae, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements and leadership in Technology and Public Safety.

Mr. Lindstrom has been a leader in the information technology (IT) realm for over 30 years, currently serving as an operations engineering advisor at Fannie Mae since 2024. In this capacity, he is responsible for maintaining overall enterprise stability and was recently assigned to oversee the error correction team, which assesses operational issues and implements improvements across the organization. Mr. Lindstrom’s expertise in building teams and process improvement has been instrumental in ensuring the continued reliability and efficiency of Fannie Mae’s operations.

Initially hired by Fannie Mae in 2014, Mr. Lindstrom spent 10 years as a senior manager of the digital workplace. During this decade-long tenure, he led initiatives that modernized the company’s digital infrastructure, enhancing collaboration and productivity for thousands of employees. In 2014, Mr. Lindstrom also served as a senior technical analyst for Fannie Mae through Convergenz, a human capital solutions firm.

From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Lindstrom was an engagement manager at CenturyLink Technology Solutions, where he oversaw the delivery of complex technology projects. Previously, he worked as a senior technical project manager at CIBER, overseeing IT outsourcing projects. Concurrently, Mr. Lindstrom taught as an academy instructor for Loudoun County Fire Rescue, sharing his extensive knowledge with recruits and helping shape the next generation of public safety professionals between 2010 and 2012.

Among other notable roles that date back to 1999, Mr. Lindstrom has had the opportunity to work for companies such as TECK Systems as a senior project manager, Northrop Grumman as a project management and planning manager, and Oracle as the technical lead of IT engineering for the northern region. These positions allowed him to lead significant technology deployments and contribute to national security initiatives.

Mr. Lindstrom’s professional journey began in public safety in the mid-1980s, dedicating over three decades to fire service and emergency response. Rising through the ranks to captain II (duty fire chief), he also served as a state instructor for the Department of Fire Programs and Office of Emergency Medical Services. For over 20 years, Mr. Lindstrom taught at local fire departments, shaping the careers of countless individuals in public safety.

During this influential time, Mr. Lindstrom’s expertise was called upon during critical moments, such as serving as the task force commander and incident safety officer during the September 11th attacks at the Pentagon. Additionally, as the director of safety and security for Fleetwood’s on Front Street, a restaurant owned by members of Fleetwood Mac, Mr. Lindstrom managed all aspects of safety during high-profile events.

Mr. Lindstrom’s educational foundation includes a diploma from Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, earned in 1988, where he was the recipient of a Sojourners Award. The discipline instilled by his father, a federal employee with a military background, his formal leadership training, and participation in ROTC shaped his values around honor, integrity and personal branding.

Active in a civic capacity, Mr. Lindstrom has been a gold life member of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department since 1990 and has served in various capacities, including station commander, duty fire chief, IT project manager and fire instructor, within volunteer fire services from 1985 to 2015. He also contributed as a volunteer firefighter and academy instructor with the Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department between 1985 and 1992.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lindstrom has demonstrated exceptional skill in building cohesive teams and driving process improvements. Among his most notable achievements was his leadership in developing a groundbreaking grid computing system for a university client. Called upon when the original service provider struggled to deliver results, Mr. Lindstrom leveraged his experience in computational mathematics and team leadership to transform the project into one of the world’s top 500 grid computing platforms.

Looking ahead, Mr. Lindstrom hopes to be remembered not only for his technical acumen but also for his kindness and effectiveness as a leader, valuing especially the impact made through mentoring others. He takes pride in having transformed disconnected groups into high-performing teams whose members credit their success to his guidance.
