Since 2019, Ms. Perossa has served as the founder, president and chief engineer at Engineered Utility Solutions Inc., a Hispanic, woman-owned small business headquartered in Houston, Texas, specializing in natural gas engineering and utility coordination. In her role, she oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, guiding teams through complex engineering projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions for clients. Before launching Engineered Utility Solutions Inc., Ms. Perossa served as the co-founder and chief executive officer of Lyle & Perossa Engineering Inc. from 2015 to 2019. During her tenure, she solidified her reputation as a leader in the industry, demonstrating her ability to navigate the challenges of a male-dominated field and setting herself apart as a role model for aspiring female engineers.
Between 2002 and 2015, Ms. Perossa excelled in her leading role as a senior project manager at Cobb Fendley & Associates, a Houston-based infrastructure solutions firm. There, she managed large-scale engineering projects, contributing to the development of critical infrastructure throughout Texas. Ms. Perossa’s work during this period was instrumental in expanding her technical knowledge and project management skills.
Ms. Perossa began her professional journey at CenterPoint Energy, a publicly traded electric and natural gas delivery company that services customers across Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, and Texas. She served as a graduate engineer and team leader for the organization from 1996 to 2002.
In preparation for her future, Ms. Perossa received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 1996. The rigorous academic training she received provided a strong foundation for her technical expertise and problem-solving abilities. While working toward her bachelor’s degree, Ms. Perossa served as an undergraduate research assistant on campus. This formative period allowed her to engage with research initiatives while completing her academic studies. Additionally, Ms. Perossa obtained a professional engineering license, a milestone that underscores her dedication to the field and commitment to upholding the highest standards of practice.
Ms. Perossa remains actively engaged with professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Southern Gas Association, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, among others.
