James E. Fadenrecht, Retired Engineering Manager at Boeing, Director of Product and Business Development at Electro Product Innovation Company, and Freelance Author has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements and leadership in Aeronautical Engineering.

Mr. Fadenrecht’s distinguished career is marked by extensive leadership and expertise in aeronautical engineering and manufacturing. Having retired from Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2022 as an engineering manager, he spent over 30 years advancing through roles with the respected organization. Today, Mr. Fadenrecht remains active as the director of product and business development at Electro Product Innovation Company (EPIC). Since 2000, he has been involved in business development for product concepts that support global industries in the transportation sector and global infrastructure.

Apart from his ongoing work at EPIC, Mr. Fadenrecht has become a freelance author and guest speaker. He recently published “Donnelly’s Dilemma” in 2024 and continues to share insights through writing and public speaking engagements. Mr. Fadenrecht is presently working on his second book, a spy novel.

Mr. Fadenrecht’s long and successful career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes began in 1988 as a manufacturing engineer, where he contributed to planning and designing the Boeing 747-400 model. He advanced to become a manufacturing engineering manager in 1995, then transitioned to a value engineering and product cost improvement program manager from 1998 to 2001. Simultaneously, he served as a production operations and virtual manufacturing manager between 1999 and 2006.

Mr. Fadenrecht spent the bulk of his career with Boeing as an engineering spatial integration and visualization manager from 2006 to 2022. During this period, he founded the Visualization Center of Excellence (VICE), assembling a cross-functional team from research and development, engineering and information technology to develop advanced software and analytical tools. These innovations enabled engineering and production personnel to visually interpret requirements for airplane design, build processes and integration.

Before joining Boeing, Mr. Fadenrecht gained valuable experience as a technical consultant with Newark Electronics from 1987 to 1988. He also excelled as a lead systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems between 1985 and 1987 during General Motors’ acquisition of EDS. Mr. Fadenrecht’s professional journey began at Campbell Industrial Supply in 1982 as an information technology and product line manager, where he implemented a pre-Internet inventory system reminiscent of early e-commerce models.

Highly educated, Mr. Fadenrecht holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial distribution technology from Central Washington University in Ellensburg in 1982, a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing engineering from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1992, and a Master of Science in management from Antioch University in 1995. He furthered his professional qualifications with certifications in configuration management II and lean manufacturing.

Active in his professional community, Mr. Fadenrecht is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Civically, he has served as a founding board member of Partners In Management since 1995. He also spent nearly a decade as a troop leader for Scouting America.

In light of his success, Mr. Fadenrecht was honored with a Technical Replication Award from Boeing in 2015. Apart from this accolade, he recalls numerous accomplishments during his tenure with the global aerospace company, including leading the creation of the universal configurator in 2008. This pioneering system, considered a precursor to artificial intelligence, reduced airplane configuration time from up to 13 months to just 15 minutes. The projected organizational impact included annual savings of approximately $200 million if applied enterprise-wide. Additionally, in 2014, Mr. Fadenrecht was involved in developing and implementing an integration visualization tool, which was recognized at Info Week Activities in Las Vegas that same year as one of the top 10 software developments globally.

Mr. Fadenrecht attributes his success to his ability to recognize individual strengths within teams and empower them to achieve excellence. Looking ahead, he remains passionate about writing and consulting. He also aims to share his experiences broadly while encouraging others to adopt holistic perspectives through creative intelligence strategies that emphasize big-picture thinking.
