He also directs all product development work procedures, ensuring standardized practices and templates are utilized throughout the organization. Mr. Loughney’s commitment to innovation is evident in his efforts to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology resources to optimize product offerings. The life cycle costs of these products range from approximately $10 million to $2 billion, reflecting their integral role in large-scale plant operations.

For over 15 years before his current role, Mr. Loughney served as a project manager overseeing the construction of plants worldwide. His assignments took him to China, Korea, Europe, Canada and Taiwan, as well as various parts of the United States. During this period, he also held a commercial position as a salesperson in Europe, based in Weybridge, Surrey, England, where he focused on selling industrial gas plants. These experiences provided Mr. Loughney with a global perspective and deepened his expertise in both technical project management and commercial operations.

Affiliated with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., since 1989, Mr. Loughney has built a distinguished career with the organization. Headquartered in Allentown, Air Products is a publicly traded company recognized as a leading industrial gases company serving over 250,000 customers across 50 countries.

Mr. Loughney’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1987 and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 1990 from Bucknell University. The rigorous education he received on campus laid the foundation for his technical proficiency and problem-solving skills that have been instrumental throughout his career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Loughney is actively engaged in civic initiatives. He volunteers with United Way Worldwide, participates in the Air Products Outreach and Volunteering Program, and supports local food banks and the YMCA. Mr. Loughney’s dedication to community service reflects a commitment to giving back and fostering positive change beyond the workplace.
