Mr. Booth was previously affiliated with Entelo, a recruitment software company specializing in advanced profiling and search technologies. He joined the firm in 2016 as a software engineer and progressed through roles as a senior and lead software engineer until 2019. During his time at Entelo, Mr. Booth developed a browser extension that analyzed web page data to match identifying information with profiles in the company’s databases, providing recruiters with real-time feedback. His work culminated in the issuance of a U.S. patent for methods for dynamically contextualizing third-party data in web browsers.
Mr. Booth’s earlier experience includes serving as a software engineer at Accredible from 2014 to 2016, where he contributed to educational credentialing solutions. He also co-founded BluePerch in 2014 after co-founding MySkillBase in 2013. MySkillBase was a startup conceived during Mr. Booth’s college years that aimed to connect early-career individuals with job opportunities before mainstream platforms could accurately match skills.
Earlier, Mr. Booth held positions at HSBC, including as an HSBCnet business tools designer. His career dates back to 2010, when he first worked as an information technology manager for the UBC Student Leadership Conference.
Mr. Booth’s academic foundation was established at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in business and computer science in 2014. His involvement with the university’s startup culture played a pivotal role in shaping his entrepreneurial mindset. Participating in Startup Weekends introduced Mr. Booth to the process of developing innovative ideas into viable businesses.
Beyond his work-related endeavors, Mr. Booth’s commitment to community service is reflected through his involvement with initiatives supporting underrepresented minorities and local charities.
