Mr. Briesemeister has established himself in nuclear engineering, construction and project management, recognized for his expertise in managing large, complex construction projects from inception to completion. In 2025, he began serving as a nuclear TFA and project manager at NES Fircroft, where he continues to demonstrate leadership in overseeing high-value energy infrastructure initiatives.

Formerly self-employed, Mr. Briesemeister worked as a freelance consultant and technical advisor, leveraging decades of experience to provide strategic guidance on international construction and engineering projects. He was also a construction project manager with APS Solutions for nearly two years before retiring from the position. In this capacity, Mr. Briesemeister directed multidisciplinary teams and ensured the successful delivery of major undertakings.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Briesemeister excelled as an engineer and project manager for U.S. and international nuclear projects at General Electric Company. His responsibilities included overseeing the design, implementation and commissioning of advanced nuclear facilities across multiple continents. During his tenure, he collaborated with local teams and built three nuclear units in Korea from the ground up. It was notably the first time in the country’s history that three nuclear units went online in just three years without any issues. Mr. Briesemeister also spent time in the Philippines to assist Bechtel with a new power plant, located in an area surrounded by communist guerrillas and requiring armed security. While residing in a camp, he was instrumental in installing the entire turbine system within 18 months.

Among other notable roles, Mr. Briesemeister contributed his expertise as a utilities engineer and manager in Saudi Arabia’s utilities sector, where he played a pivotal role in modernizing critical infrastructure. His tenure at Westinghouse included serving as a lead engineer in the marine division for Trident submarines in Sunnyvale, California, following his positions as a lead engineer and manager for nuclear and power plants. Mr. Briesemeister began his career as an engineer specializing in reactor containment and construction at Brown and Root, where he gained foundational experience in nuclear facility development.

Mr. Briesemeister served his country in the U.S. Navy before pivoting into the civilian sector. His initial exposure to the field came through his military service as a trainee and operator in a nuclear power program. During this time, Mr. Briesemeister received advanced technical training and hands-on experience with reactor systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and cryogenics, skills that would become central to his later work.

Becoming highly educated, Mr. Briesemeister first earned a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering with a minor in nuclear engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1981. Subsequently, he received a Master of Business Administration in international finance from the University of New Haven in 1994, a Master of Engineering in industrial engineering from the University of Miami in 2003, and a Master of Science in project management from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2015. Mr. Briesemeister has also earned several industry certifications, including HVAC technician certification from Southern Technical College in 2024.

Mr. Briesemeister’s commitment to professional excellence is reflected in his active membership with the Project Management Institute. A well-written writer, he authored “Managing Complex Construction Projects: A Systems Approach,” published by Auerbach Publications in 2018. Mr. Briesemeister wrote this book while simultaneously managing the construction of Malaysia’s largest power plant for Petronas, a facility exceeding 2,000 megawatts that serves as a primary power source for a major petrochemical complex.

Throughout his career, Mr. Briesemeister has been recognized for several significant accomplishments. Among them, he was honored by the Korean Government with a National Award while working for General Electric Company. Additionally, he received an award from the Project Management Institute for a paper that further solidified his reputation within the construction management community.

Mr. Briesemeister attributes his achievements to dedication and passion for his field. He recalls that encouragement from loved ones reinforced the fulfillment he found in working in power plant environments, a realization that strengthened his commitment to advancing energy infrastructure worldwide.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Briesemeister is dedicated to raising awareness about critical workforce shortages within the global power sector. Drawing on extensive research and firsthand experience, he seeks to engage industry leaders and policymakers to advocate for solutions that will stabilize energy grids and promote sustainable practices worldwide. Mr. Briesemeister’s ongoing efforts continue to shape best practices within nuclear engineering and project management while contributing meaningfully to global energy security initiatives.
