Since 2025, he has served as a senior director of sales for the Northeast Enterprise at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, with a focus on data services and storage. In this capacity, Dr. Vitelli leads a dynamic team of over 30 sales representatives and more than 20 storage engineers, engaging with clients both in person and virtually to address complex business and information technology challenges. His daily responsibilities include consulting with customer executives, participating in dozens of meetings each week, and consistently working over 12 hours per day to ensure his team and clients succeed.
Before becoming a senior director of sales, Dr. Vitelli served as a district sales manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from 2023 to 2025, where he was instrumental in driving revenue growth and fostering collaborative partnerships across the region. His leadership style has been characterized by empathy, respect and a focus on enabling team members to achieve their full potential. Dr. Vitelli first worked for Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2004, initially as a global strategic account manager, and then as a district sales manager between 2012 and 2014.
Among other instrumental roles that have characterized his leadership and tenure, Dr. Vitelli contributed his expertise as a global account manager at Pure Storage Inc., a publicly traded data storage solutions company, from 2020 to 2023, where he managed key international accounts and developed strategic sales plans that drove significant business expansion. Between 2017 and 2020, Dr. Vitelli served as a regional vice president of sales for the northeast at Virtual Instruments, now Virtana. In this role, he led high-performing sales teams, leveraging his strategic planning and key account management skills to deliver exceptional results.
Earlier, Dr. Vitelli briefly worked for Virtual Computing Environment Company in 2014. As a senior account manager, he focused on building strong client partnerships and delivering tailored solutions. This position led to Dr. Vitelli’s role as a global account manager at Dell EMC from 2015 to 2017, where he managed relationships with major clients and contributed to the company’s global growth initiatives, including its largest global financial accounts.
Dr. Vitelli’s early career, dating back to 1995, included various positions at multiple companies, providing him with a broad foundation in technology sales and customer relationship management. Throughout his professional journey, he has been recognized for his ability to drive partnerships, achieve significant revenue growth and develop innovative strategies for key accounts.
Pivotal in shaping his career trajectory, Dr. Vitelli became highly educated, first earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, in 2003. Shortly thereafter, he acquired a Master of Business Administration in computer information systems on campus in 2006. Adding to his credibility, Dr. Vitelli completed a Doctor of Business Administration in leadership from Walden University in Minneapolis in 2017. These educational milestones were accomplished while balancing full-time professional responsibilities, often dedicating evenings and weekends to coursework.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Vitelli is actively involved with civic-minded organizations, such as North Shore Animal League America, and regularly volunteers through his church and other community initiatives. His dedication to service reflects his belief in giving back and supporting causes that align with his values.
As an author, Dr. Vitelli contributed original research with “Matching Corporate Social Responsibility Strategies to Organizational Goals,” published by Walden University in 2017. This work highlighted his interest in aligning business objectives with ethical practices.
Dr. Vitelli’s excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including Rookie of the Year, Sales Leader of the Year, Sales District of the Year, and multiple Worldwide Global Account Management of the Year honors. He is also a 25-time recipient of the President’s Club Award, an achievement that underscores his sustained performance at the highest levels of enterprise sales leadership.
