In this capacity, Mr. Reid leads initiatives focused on nitrous oxide abatement projects within the voluntary carbon market and manages international collaborations in China and India. Throughout his tenure, he has also been instrumental in launching employee resource groups, fostering inclusivity and collaboration among employees. A career trajectory characterized by progressive roles within the engineering sector, Mr. Reid commenced his professional journey as a staff engineer at Bee (Building Energy Efficiency), a building and facility energy engineering firm in Austin, Texas, in 2015, before advancing to project engineer until 2017. His tenure at ESC Spectrum Corporation, a leading environmental services provider based in Austin, saw him evolve from a systems specialist I in 2017 to a project manager II by 2022. During this period, Mr. Reid honed his skills in project management and systems optimization. He also played a pivotal role in developing and implementing a standard project management process and the company’s DAS software at client sites, while also overseeing various projects for the software implementation team.
Mr. Reid’s journey began with a strong academic foundation. He earned an Associate of Arts in general studies at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, in 2009. While working toward his degree, he served as a math tutor on campus. He then received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 2012 and 2015, respectively, from Baylor University in Waco. During this time, Mr. Reid was instrumental as a graduate research assistant. He also conducted research in energy modeling of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems during his master’s degree studies.
Before earning his degrees, Mr. Reid worked for Thunderbolt Utility Contractors in Waco as an assistant lineman in 2008. His subsequent academic achievements laid the groundwork for his professional endeavors.
Further supporting his professional development, Mr. Reid obtained several credentials, such as the certified associate in project management, earned in 2021, and the project management professional certification, acquired in 2024, from the Project Management Institute (PMI). His membership with PMI underscores his commitment to continuous learning and excellence in project management.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Reid is actively involved in civic activities, volunteering at local nursing homes and participating in team-building events focused on community service through ClimeCo LLC. He also contributes to thought leadership through blog posts on topics like diversity and inclusion.
Mr. Reid’s efforts have been recognized with multiple accolades from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers for technical papers between 2016 and 2019. He also received the ClimeCo Stewardship Award in 2025.
