While working toward his associate degree, Mr. Haugen gained experience at Grand Rapids Community College in positions in information technology, desktop support and academic support services. These roles were instrumental in shaping his career path, allowing him to acquire hands-on, real-world experience before graduation and truly understand the complexities of the industry. Among a range of responsibilities during this time, Mr. Haugen became fluent in offering software, hardware, and technical assistance, delivering one-on-one and group tutoring in technology, and installing new laptops and desktop computers, peripheral hardware, and associated software and drivers.
Mr. Haugen’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his professional success. He received an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences in network and system administration from Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2016. Subsequently, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in computer information technology systems administration and security, summa cum laude, from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, in 2018.
Throughout his career, Mr. Haugen earned numerous certifications that underscore his expertise. These include the Network of Experts Contributor designation from CompTIA Inc., various accreditations from Cloudflare Inc., and cybersecurity credentials from Cisco Systems Inc. Mr. Haugen’s involvement with CompTIA as a subject matter expert highlights his commitment to advancing industry standards.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Haugen is deeply committed to civic engagement. He has volunteered with organizations such as Resilience, Lakeshore Alliance Against Domestic and Sexual Assault, where he designed and managed their website pro bono.
