John Rossit, Engine Test Specialist at Stellantis, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in automotive engineering.
After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Mr. Rossit continued his education with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1992 from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan and later a Master of Science in the same discipline in 1993 at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Since 2003, Mr. Rossit has provided superior service as global in-process test lead for Stellantis, the sixth-largest automaker worldwide formed in 2021 by a merger of Fiat and the French PSA Group, designing, developing and manufacturing the brands Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat and Jeep, among others. With Stellantis, Mr. Rossit creates test plans for engines on the assembly line and writes test schedules, whereupon they are published and shared with other plants in the corporation. In addition, he researches cutting-edge test methods and equipment and adapts them to develop test machines for Stellantis’ manufacturing plants. He also works remotely and with various international manufacturing sites, and has flown to several countries, such as China, Italy and Mexico to commission test equipment.
Mr. Rossit brought years of project managing experience to Stellantis, excelling from 1992 to 2003 as a project and design engineer with Roush Technologies in Livonia, Michigan; Modern Engineering and Design Associates and Gates Rubber Company in Windsor; and MSX International as a powertrain systems engineer in Dearborn.
Mr. Rossit entered the engineering field because he has always been interested not just in cars, but in internal combustion engine development including designing, improving, and testing. His goal in the coming years is to continue his success in the automotive industry. He also wants to focus on the development of car engines, including the integration of the electric engine.
