Daniel R. Hoemberg, manufacturing engineer at Polaris Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in manufacturing process development and management.
With more than four decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Hoemberg has cultivated a career of excellence in the engineering industry. Specializing in manufacturing and the implementation of precision machining cells, he recently joined Polaris Inc. in 2021 as a manufacturing engineer. As part of his duties within the engine case manufacturing company, which specializes in on-and-off-road vehicles, Mr. Hoemberg primarily focuses on new product and machine tool process development. In addition, he thrives in the fields of machining and project management.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Hoemberg held a similar position within the machining division of Kurt Manufacturing Company in 2021. Additionally, from 2017 to 2021, he served as an applications engineer for Industrial Tool Inc. In his leadership roles, he excelled as an operations manager for Carbide Tool Services in 2016, and he was a production manager and manufacturing technology manager at Command Tooling Systems from 2013 to 2016. Mr. Hoemberg originally began his career in 1983, working with Mate Precision Tooling as a machinist lead and prototype machine developer until 1999. He then transferred into manufacturing engineering, working on new product and new cell development until 2013.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Hoemberg pursued a formal education, originally earning an associate’s degree in tool room machinist at the Staples Technical Institute in 1983. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Minnesota Crookston and achieved a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing management in 2011. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Hoemberg also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, and he was recognized among the Mini Masters of Manufacturing Systems by the University of St. Thomas in 2002.
Mr. Hoemberg’s passion for engineering extends well beyond the scope of his profession alone. To wit, he can often otherwise be found refurbishing old muscle cars and helping others on various construction and landscaping projects. Furthermore, as a civic-minded citizen, he regularly volunteers with the Minnesota Street Rod Association. Attributing much of his success to his determination and forward-thinking attitude, he is particularly proud to have been named in the Top 2% of College Graduates in the United States upon receiving his bachelor’s degree. In the coming years, Mr. Hoemberg looks forward to acting as an engineering consultant for the development of machining cells.
