Joseph S. Michel, a system engineering team lead with the United States Navy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of engineering.
Proud to have dedicated his life to service on behalf of his country in one capacity or another, Mr. Michel has distinguished himself through his role on behalf of the U.S. Navy, through which he has managed a team of defense acquisition professionals and maintained responsibility for the development and delivery of equipment in support of strategic systems since 2021. Well-regarded for his excellence in the field of engineering, he previously availed himself in military service with the U.S. Army, through which he worked in various roles of program supervision from 2007 to 2013. Prior to this, he was an electronics engineer between 2007 and 2010, having embarked upon his career journey with the U.S. Coast Guard in 1995. Well-regarded for his various accomplishments, Mr. Michel was bestowed with a Defense Meritorious Service Medal in 2020.
Mr. Michel studied electrical and electronics engineering at Drexel University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in 2003. Following this accomplishment, he earned a Master of Science in engineering management at Southern Methodist University in 2011. Over the course of his academic efforts, he earned induction into the honorable societies of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. He also remains affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as a senior member, as well as ISC2 Inc. In accounting for his success, he largely credits his qualities of resilience and persistence, as well as the inspiration of his mother, who encouraged him to cultivate a love for learning.
