With 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Kilcollins has excelled as a wind power technology instructor at Northern Maine Community College since 2009. He began his career as senior technical associate at Bell Laboratories from 1983 to 1988. He garnered a stellar reputation as a production engineer at Control Devices, Inc. from 1988 to 1993. At First Technology, Inc., he established himself as a project engineer from 1996 to 2004. He continued his career as a wind power technician III at GE Energy from 2007 to 2009.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Kilcollins pursued an education at Vermont Technical College where he earned an associate of science in mechanical engineering technology in 1983. He continued his studies at Century University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in mechanical engineering in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration in engineering management in 2006. He is certified in open water scuba diving and as a single private pilot.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Kilcollins has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteered his expertise as a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol and Search and Rescue. He authored “Workbook to Accompany MFWT” in 2013 and “Maintenance Fundamentals for Wind Technicians,” in 2012. During his student years, Mr. Kilcollins dedicated his summers to working alongside the Army Corps of Engineers within the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In this role, he conducted surveys in the southern region, focusing on disaster and crisis relocation efforts.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Kilcollins remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a former member of the Education and Workforce Training Committee of the American Wind Energy Association for 12 years. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Of his notable professional experiences, he is particularly proud of his participation in search and rescue operations for the Civil Air Patrol for 17 years.
