Mr. Saxena has established himself in the field of technology, specializing in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. He currently excels as the creative director of PuliStudio Technologies Inc., a role he has held since 2023. He is also the founder of Shadowcademy, which he established in 2023. Previously, he was head of design at MetLife Legal Plans from 2020 to 2023, head of design at Willing, Inc. from 2018 to 2020, mobile design strategist (UX design) at Capital One from 2016 to 2018, senior UX designer at Merchant Link from 2015 to 2016, and UI/UX designer at Comtech LLC from 2014 to 2016. Earlier in his career, he worked as a front-end JavaScript developer at IBM from 2013 to 2014, UI/UX consultant at SemiconSpace from 2013 to 2014, Android mobile UI/UX designer at Marketing Streams from 2011 to 2012, and web UI/UX design and development consultant at Dial Services India from 2009 to 2010, and web UI designer intern at Planetsurf Creations in 2009. Laying a solid foundation for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from RV College of Engineering in 2013, followed by a Master of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2020.
A standout accomplishment in Mr. Saxena’s career occurred during his tenure at Willing Inc., a startup where he joined as the fourth employee. At the time, the company lacked a formal process and aimed to enable individuals to create their end-of-life wills and trusts online. Despite legal barriers, he pivoted from financial technology to legal technology, collaborating with state legislatures to advocate for digital authorization and will creation. They went on to successfully onboard approximately 1.75 million customers. Three and a half years later, Willing Inc. was acquired by MetLife. He also takes pride in his involvement with an organization in Tampa that empowers underprivileged women in rural areas of India to start their own businesses, providing them with education and resources to support their families and communities. In light of his impressive undertakings, he was honored with the Customer Experience Award, also known as the JW Excellence Award, at Capital One.
Mr. Saxena attributes his success to his engineering education, which enhanced his understanding of systems and code, making him a more effective designer. Early in his career, he worked closely with developers and product owners to streamline product delivery and marketing while minimizing technological debt and later learned to communicate effectively with stakeholders. In the future, he aims to leverage artificial intelligence to provide detailed insights from customer data, extending this capability to the stock industry to help small businesses gain valuable insights from limited datasets and accelerate growth. Advising aspiring designers and entrepreneurs, he emphasizes detachment from their ideas, and viewing design as a practical, iterative process. He encourages embracing constructive criticism, focusing on the end result, and collaborating with users to refine designs for more meaningful and effective outcomes.
