Carlos Bruno Valrand, owner of Dramtes Enterprises, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
With over a decade of experience, Mr. Valrand has built a successful career in engineering. Since 2013, he has excelled as the owner of Dramtes Enterprises, a publishing company dedicated to showcasing the work of storytellers, intellectuals, and innovators. Dramtes Enterprises publishes both fiction and non-fiction in various formats, aiming to entertain, educate, and inspire readers. His experience also includes roles as an associate at World Financial Group from 2012 to 2013, engineering staff VI at United Space Alliance from 2000 to 2011, and senior engineer at GB Tech from 1996 to 2000. He was also a senior engineer at IBM Federal Systems Division from 1976 to 1993 and worked with TRW Systems from 1970 to 1976. Additionally, he has held positions as an aerodynamicist at Lockheed Martin Corporation, Boeing, and as a draftsman at Robert and Company. He is also the author of “The Site,” published by Dramtes Enterprises in 2021, and serves as the director of the Internet Looks website.
Mr. Valrand has also been a member of the Financial Management Association since 1996, served as past president of the Clear Lake Toastmasters Club at Toastmasters International, and has been a poll worker for Harris County, Texas, since 2012. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1965 and a Master of Science in finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1997. Reflecting on his path, he was an aerospace engineer until 2012, when he transitioned to full-time writing, driven by a long-standing passion for storytelling. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1965 and began his career at Boeing in Seattle, Washington, where he contributed to the preliminary design of the 757 and 767 aircraft in the commercial division. He then joined Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia, working on projects such as the C5A and C130. He subsequently joined TRW and NASA to work on the Space Shuttle program, focusing on preliminary design. He then took on a senior engineering role at IBM Federal Systems Division, where he was responsible for software requirements analysis and verification for the Space Shuttle and Space Station. His work also included proposal preparation for the Strategic Defense Initiative National Test Bed simulator and performance analysis of computer and communications systems. Later, he managed the Space Shuttle software verification department and served as a software architect for the shuttle mission reconfiguration management system. He then worked with the United Space Alliance, where he managed spacecraft flight software verification, developed the flight software verification process, and ensured software quality assurance.
Mr. Valrand considers writing his second career, starting as a hobby during college and student publications. Today, he has published one book, “The Site,” and is in the final stages of completing another, “An Effect Like Magic.” He has also authored various aerospace system functional requirements documents and technical papers and has developed and taught courses in dynamic simulations, aerodynamics, space vehicle guidance, and navigation and control. Looking ahead, he is dedicated to continuing to blend his technical expertise with his passion for writing.
