Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Company: Scientech Inc.
Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States
Frank Maring, senior manufacturing engineer at Scientech Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in manufacturing engineering.
With over five decades of experience, Mr. Maring has built a distinguished career in engineering, specializing in manufacturing engineering and design. He currently serves as a senior manufacturing engineer at Scientech Inc., where he has worked since 1972. He takes great pride in his U.S. patents, including one for an optical meter in 2017 and another for high-resolution offset electronic weighing devices. His first patent, awarded in 2008, was for a sensor he developed that became Scientech’s leading product, used by numerous OEM customers, including multi-million dollar corporations. In 2017, when the National Institute of Standards and Technology tasked Scientech with developing a pressure sensor, his design leveraged laser technology to measure power with unprecedented accuracy, now the gold standard for high-powered laser measurement used by the Navy, Army, and other major entities.
Mr. Maring attributes his success to being entirely self-taught, relying on self-learning throughout his career. Without formal mentors or college education, he embraced the belief that anything is possible, a mindset that has guided him his whole life. He began as a machinist in a machine shop and quickly advanced to handling prototype work and design within a few years. In the coming years, he plans to remain with Scientech, focusing on bringing a new product to market that he has been working on, in which he has designed its mechanical components and housing, ensuring it is well-integrated and versatile, with the electronics and software nearing completion for a fall launch. Committed to supporting the rollout and addressing any challenges, he plans to continue working as long as his health allows, with no immediate plans for retirement.
